Visual Highlights from the 65th International Astronautical Congress held in Toronto between September 29th through October 3rd, 2014.

Delegates from around the world were treated to Canadiana during the opening ceremonies of the 65th International Astronautical Congress in Toronto. Highlights included a love story on ice, a cross country taste of Canadian music including fiddlers from Nova Scotia and First Nations from British Columbia and of course an appearance by former Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield who galvanized the world with his social media presence during his stay aboard the International Space Station.

Marc Garneau, Canada's first astronaut in space and former President of the Canadian Space Agency and current Liberal Member of Parliament for Westmount-Ville-Marie was announced this evening as a speaker at the 65th International Astronautical Congress taking place this week in Toronto.

The International Astronautical Federation has released its September newsletter on the eve of the 65th International Astronautical Congress in Toronto. Included in the newsletter is an interview with the President of the Canadian Space Agency, General Walter Natynczyk and congress developments.

The 65th International Astronautical Congress mobile app is now available for download for Apple, Android and Blackberry devices.

Canadian Space Agency astronauts and Jeremy Hansen and David Saint-Jacques have been announced as the co-hosts of the opening ceremony.
