Future astronauts will require highly reliable habitation systems to keep them healthy and productive during missions that take them farther from Earth than humans have ever gone before.

Bigelow Aerospace held a media event last week to view the BEAM spacecraft packed up in its launch configuration. BEAM is currently scheduled to fly to the ISS in September 2015. Larger image.

Taking another step forward, Bigelow Aerospace will see its Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM) launched and attached to the International Space Station in July of 2015.
